Plane Crash: Osun, Ekiti States Declare Three Days of Mourning

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and his Ekiti counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, have declared three days mourning for the victims of Thursday’s plane crash involving the remains of former Governor Olusegun Agagu of Ondo State.

This was contained in statements by the governors’ media aides, Semiu Okanlawon and Yinka Oyebode for Osun and Ekiti respectively.

Okanlawon quoted Aregbesola as describing the plane crash as “a national tragedy.”

The governor urged the people of the state to use the three days to pray for the quick recovery of the injured and fortitude for the families of the victims to bear the huge loss.

Oyebode quoted his principal as saying the crash was “a calamity of unimaginable proportion.”

He said the mourning period was to show Ekiti’s sympathy with the government and people of Ondo State.
